Sulzer acquires majority share of Owatec Group
Owatec Group Oy, an environmental company specializing in industrial wastewater treatment and recovery of by-products, is now part of the Sulzer brand family.
Finnish water treatment solutions draw attention of global investors
The partnership will drive the development, commercialization and adoption of advanced, fully integrated solutions for wastewater processing and sludge management. Together, Owatec’s and Sulzer’s proven water treatment and filtration technologies strengthen and expand Sulzer’s offering to ensure solutions for all stages of the water lifecycle.
Owatec continues to operate as an independent company at its current facilities in Tupos, near Oulu, Finland.
Following the acquisition, Owatec founder and CEO Jaakko Pellinen (right side) and Sulzer Ventures' Technical Advisor Philippe Bechtold (left) were appointed to a newly formed Board of Directors.
